Born in Guatemala in 1980, Luis A. Arrivillaga studied Mechanical Engineer at Rafael Landivar University gratuating in 2005. Soon after he moves to Milan in Italy to attend a Master in Product and Interior Design, taking the opportunity to collaborate with some prestigious brands as Centro Stile Alfa Romeo, Alias, Serralunga. Where in Milan, during Salone del Mobile 2008 he participates at BestUp exhibition with the project Caos Calmo. In 2009 he started working in Flowserve and Lai Studio, developing some researches in different concepts, from furniture and products design to interiors and architecture. In 2010 he joins Atelier Biagetti, working on different interior and industrial design projects. In the same year he won a position in the Workshop Universal Design for Seoul city in Korea, run by Julia Cassim; this experience would give him the chance of being in direct contact with a different approach for design issues. At the beginning of 2011 he moves to London to join Nikid Design Studio, then in April 2011 wins the 1st. price with its Putia table at the MDF Italia+Cristalplant contest. The table would be presented at IMM Koln 2012. Luis now lives and works in Milan, collaborating with different studios and manufacture companies including MDF Italia, Made a Mano, Prospero Rasulo just to name a few. In April 2012 he participates at OUT NOW exhibition during Milano Fuori Salone, presenting different prototypes of its Mariu lamp and Chiummo stool.
